Delivering ISO 14001 Training Across Continents
1am in the USA, 9am in the UK

Last night was a great reminder that geography doesn’t have to be a barrier to delivering high-quality training.
Although I live and work in the UK, I’m currently in the USA on holiday, spending time with family and celebrating some very special milestone birthdays.
That didn’t stop me supporting one of my UK clients.
At 1:00am in the USA, while most people around me were asleep, I logged into Zoom to deliver a live Environmental Awareness and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System training course. Back in the UK it was 9:00am, with delegates beginning their working day.
It certainly wasn’t my usual training room!
The course wasn’t simply about environmental awareness. It focused on helping employees understand how their everyday actions influence environmental performance and, more importantly, how those actions support their organisation’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
Throughout the session we explored environmental aspects and impacts, lifecycle thinking, pollution prevention, waste management, environmental responsibilities and how every individual contributes to continual improvement.
As always, I wanted the session to be practical rather than simply explaining the standard. Through discussions, breakout rooms, polls and company-specific examples, delegates were encouraged to think about how ISO 14001 applies to their own roles and how they can make a genuine difference within the business.
The feedback afterwards was fantastic.
Every delegate rated the course content, structure and my knowledge, delivery, engagement and ability to answer questions at the highest level or equivalent on their feedback forms…
Some of the comments included:

Delegates also highlighted the value of the breakout room activities, the practical exercises and the fact that the course was tailored to their own business rather than being a generic presentation.
Receiving feedback like this makes the 1 am start completely worthwhile.
It also proves something I strongly believe: great training isn’t about where the trainer is physically located—it’s about creating an engaging learning experience that people can immediately apply within their organisation.
So, while I’m making wonderful memories with family here in America and celebrating milestone birthdays, I’m equally proud to know that I was still able to support a UK client from over 5,000 miles away.
1 am in the USA.
9 am in the UK.
One live ISO 14001 training course.
Fantastic engagement. Outstanding feedback.
That’s the power of modern learning—and the commitment to always delivering the best possible experience for my clients.
